Migrant & Minority Disability Network Europe (MMDN) was formed on the 2/11/13 by Ms Angela Unufe-Kennedy.
The primary aim of MMDN Europe among others is to provide expert and compassionate support to Children from Migrant /Minority backgrounds. The focus will be to provide support for families with children (0-18 yrs demography) living with physical/intellectual disability/ (ies). The goal is to help optimise the unique ability of every child while ensuring also that they receive the right kind of care.
Migrant & Minority Disability Network Europe have been set up principally to provide expert support for Children with Physical and intellectual disability and succour to their parents; with emphasis on those children and their parents from Migrant/Minority communities. We hope to work in concert with main stream National, Regional and other community based agencies to help families with the understanding of their child’s illness while helping them to access the necessary support structure available in Europe. We also hope to help reduce the stress while working to eliminate the social prejudice and cultural hindrances associated with having a child with disability. MMDN Europe will help to promote participation/inclusion of disabled Migrant/Minority children in their communities.
